Dear AKMG members,

It gives me great pleasure to address you ahead of the upcoming AKMG meeting in Detroit for the year 2012. I am the CME chair for the year and under the auspices of Dr. KC Joseph, the president of AKMG, we are working to give you an intellectual feast and fascinating array of CME discourses.

There will be 8 hours of CME divided over two days and we will be devoting 4 hours exclusively for lectures by second generation AKMG physicians. This will give them an opportunity to highlight their achievements and project the increasing role of younger members in our community.

We will also be undertaking a poster presentation for all AKMG residents this year. There will be 3 prizes given for the top presentations to encourage original work. We hope this trend will continue in the coming years too.

Many of the details are still in the embryonic stage and we will keep you appraised of news about CME lectures as they get finalized in the next few months. If any of you have interest in a speaking session or want to recommend or sponsor a speaker, please feel free to contact me at the contact info detailed below.

I invite you all to share our common joy and interest in the quest for knowledge and casual camaraderie by coming to the meeting and partaking of all that it offers.
