AKMG Medical Education Mission Statement:

All Kerala Medical Graduates Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program is dedicated to promote and facilitate excellence in CME and continuing professional development. The CME Program disseminates information to multiple audiences about changes in the medical practice, resulting from research and developments at major universities all over the world. Continuing Medical Education offerings are intended to communicate information about the state-of-the-art medical practice and impart new skills with ultimate goal of improving the health status of residents of USA.
The AKMG CME Program supports and strives to assist in the continuing professional development of physicians through improvement in the Core Competencies of: Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Practice-based Learning and Improvement, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Professionalism, Systems-based Practice which are necessary to provide enhanced patient care services and improved healthcare outcomes for the public and the profession. The AKMG strives to establish a program of CME activities that is independent, fair balanced and objective and provides opportunities for delivering and improving the quality, safety and cost-effectiveness of patient care and outcomes.

Educational Needs Assessment:
The educational needs have been identified as predominantly "update and review". This educational program will provide program participants with most current and clinically useful information regarding the diagnosis and management of patients with various disease subtypes in Medicine, Surgery , OB/GYN and various subspecialties within these areas. Additionally, program participants will benefit from this educational activity since updates and outcomes of ongoing clinical trials will be synthesized by the faculty in the field into a concise learning opportunity. Moreover, because the faculty has access to recent advances in the treatment of various diseases , this program also provides them a forum with which to share their research with other interested researchers and clinicians, stimulating discussion regarding the application of recent clinical trial outcomes to daily clinical practice.

Educational Objectives:
The global objective for CME is to provide a forum for reviewing and updating for Physicians , the progress in various aspects of disease subtypes in Medicine, Surgery , OB/GYN and various subspecialties’ within these areas, including but not limited to diagnostics and therapeutics. At the conclusion of the CME, participants will be able to:
1. Integrate into their clinical practice useful new information on diagnosing and treating various diseases gleaned from research findings and clinical vignettes.
2. Apply these diagnostic and therapeutic principles in their clinical practice, particularly in being able to formulate strategies for effective patient management.
3. Discuss the rationale supporting novel therapeutic approaches and explain how to seek more information relevant to these issues in order to obtain a broader perspective in the practice.

Instructional Method(s):
The Educational design is Lecture Format. Educational needs have been identified as predominantly "update and review", and this information is presented didactically, usually as a topical review. Case-based material is used on occasion for illustrating the content. Almost all presentations use visual aids (Power Point ) to enhance graphically the verbal presentation.

Evaluation and/or Outcomes Assessment:
All participants seeking CME credits will be required to complete and return an evaluation feedback form. Evaluations are conducted to measure the participants' satisfaction with the course content, the presenter, the facility, and the utilization of the skills and knowledge that they have gained. A summary report is tabulated and given to the Speaker, CME Course Directors to be utilized for future meetings and seminars.
