I am honored and privileged to serve as the president of Association of Kerala Medical graduates for the year 2007-2008

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Dr Prathap Chandran, past president for a memorable 2006-2007 for AKMG. The Cleveland Convention organized under his guidance by Dr. Suja Subramaniam, Mrs. Susan Karimpil and the convention team was a grand success.

I firmly believe that AKMG has better days ahead with all your continued support. I am looking forward to working with all of you this coming year. I value all your suggestions as I plan activities for next year. We should continue to do philanthropic activities in our motherland and in our adopted homeland. We should continue to support the Emergency Medical Projects, the Learning Resource Centers in Kerala. This year with all your support I would like to bring women’s health issues to the forefront in Kerala and plan to have access to mammograms for women in Kerala along with bringing cancer prevention awareness among women in Kerala.

I would also like to encourage more young physicians and medical students to become AKMG members, and hope to get them involved more actively within the organization. On a national level we should also participate more in AAPI , which is our umbrella organization.

The Annual AKMG convention is going to be held at Marriott Hotel & Spa, New port beach, CA on June 26- 28,2008. Apart from this we are planning a group activity for AKMG members, which is a trip to Peru in November 2007. Please visit our web site for more details on these events.
