I thank Dr. Thomas Mukkada for his strong leadership over the years and also congratulate him and his team for such a wonderful convention in Chicago, which we all enjoyed, it was really magnificent, on magnificent mile.

It is the hard work, sincerity, commitment, love and dedication of our past 30 president’s to make our association to reach this glorious global level today. They have kept their commitment to roots; OUR ROOTS IN KERALA, and have worked hard physically helping financially and even at times emotionally to achieve such goals, to name a few, leaning resource centers in Trivandrum, Calicut, Kottayam and Alleppey Medical Colleges, Emergency Medical Services in Kerala, mammogram unit in Thrissur, and Young AKMG Forum ect. I salute them all for their compassion ,unconditional commitment and unselfish dedication to reach above goals.

I will be following their footsteps and path, and my goals this year, other then our commitment in improving medical education and healthcare infrastructure, will be to enrol more and more young AKMG physicians, medical students and youth into our cultural, educational and social activities. Secondly to make learning resource center in Thrissur operational by 2010 and also support and help other presidents on their projects on women’s health in Kerala and Pediatric Cancer Care in Calicut.

AKMG Young Forum under the leadership of Dr. Sunil Manjila and Dr. Saby George had a great success in the recent Chicago convention, leading to a greater participation of young AKMG physicians and youth. I would like to see our association getting much stronger and vibrant in the coming years.

We will have a one day International Conference in Dubai on 30th Dec 2009 with CME and Social Activities and this can be followed by International Conference in Thrissur Medical College from 2nd to 3rd Jan. 2010 (with CME and Social Activities)

2010 AKMG Vancouver Convention on 29th 30th 31st of July is getting closer and under the leadership of Drs.Mathew Yaltho,Santosh Paikat,Biju mathew, CME Chair Dr.Girish Nair and Entertainment Chair Dr.Bhavani Nair, I have no doubt that you will have a memorable time. We are going to present you with three days of world class entertainment and shows and excellent CME and unparallel hospitality at Westin Bayshore. So come early and enjoy the convention pre and post Convention tours and optional Alaskan Cruise 1st -8th Aug 2010, Hope to see you all !
