Dear AKMG Family,

Dr.Joseph Eipe

Chatsworth, CA
February 25, 2022

We are sorry to inform you that Dr.Joseph Eipe, past President of AKMG, passed away on 2/25/2022 at his home in Chatsworth, CA.

Dr. Eipe was an alumnus of Trivandrum Medical College, class of 1961. He did his internal medicine residency at Cook County hospital in Chicago IL and was practicing in Southern California as an Internist & oncologist.

Dr. Eipe was actively involved in AKMG for many years. He was one of the convention co-chairs for the motherland convention in Cochin, Kerala in 1996. He helped AKMG spread its wings to the West Coast and was the convention chair during the first convention of AKMG west of the Rockies in 1992 in Hotel del Coronado, San Diego.

Dr. Eipe was a guide for AKMG in the West Coast. He participated actively in the Las Vegas convention in 1999 and was deeply involved in an advisory position in 2008 when we had the convention in Newport Beach. As president of AKMG in 2003 he held the first offshore convention in Hawaii 2003. This convention is etched in the minds of all AKMG members, as one of the best conventions in the history of AKMG.

Dr Eipe is a very soft-spoken person and is a great guide, friend and leader. His desire was to bring another AKMG convention to California after the Newport Beach convention and he was happy to see that the plans were going well for the same. He is survived by his lovely wife Omana Eipe and his four wonderful daughters Lata, Maria, Sarah and Nita, sons in-law and grandchildren.  He was always a great guide and it’s going to be a big loss for AKMG, especially the California chapter. Dr. Eipe will be missed by all of us and his dear friends from across the country.
