AKMG Social Media Group Member Guidelines and Regulations

Welcome to the AKMG (Association of Kerala Medical Graduates) social media groups. These guidelines are intended to promote a professional, respectful, and productive environment for all members across our platforms, including WhatsApp, Facebook, and others. We expect all participants to follow these rules to maintain the integrity and positivity of our community.
1. Respectful Communication
1.1 Be Polite and Courteous
- Treat every member with kindness, dignity, and respect. Offensive language, personal attacks, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated.
1.2 Stay On Topic
- Keep discussions relevant to the group’s primary purpose, such as medical updates, professional networking, and AKMG activities. If you wish to discuss unrelated topics, please take them to private messages.
2. Privacy and Confidentiality
2.1 Respect Members' Privacy
- Do not share any member's personal or professional information without their explicit consent. Avoid discussing topics that might infringe on personal privacy or create discomfort.
2.2 No Unauthorized Forwarding
- Do not forward messages, media, or documents from the group to non-members or other groups without the permission of the original sender.
2.3 Sharing of Patient Data
- Sharing patient data, medical records, or confidential health information is strictly prohibited. This includes cases where patient identifiers are removed, as this still poses a risk to confidentiality.
3. Content Guidelines
3.1 Appropriate and Professional Content
- Share content that benefits all members, such as research updates, conference announcements, medical advancements, or AKMG event information. Medical case discussions should exclude any identifying information to protect patient confidentiality. Avoid sharing explicit, offensive, illegal, or inflammatory content. Refrain from posts or discussions about politics, religion, or other polarizing topics unless directly relevant to healthcare.
3.2 Limit Spam and Promotions
- Excessive memes, spam, chain messages, or promotional content should be avoided. For event or business promotions, obtain admin permission before posting.
4. Participation and Engagement
4.1 Encourage Constructive Participation
- All members are encouraged to contribute their thoughts, ideas, and opinions. We value diverse perspectives.Support your fellow members by engaging with their posts in a respectful and meaningful way.
4.2 Avoid Dominating Conversations
- Give space for others to voice their opinions. Monopolizing conversations is discouraged to ensure inclusive participation.
5. Conflict Resolution
5.1 Address Issues Privately
- If disagreements or misunderstandings arise, address them privately, directly with the individuals involved. Seek amicable solutions to resolve disputes, respecting each other’s perspectives.
5.2 Admin Intervention
- Group admins will intervene if conflicts escalate or if inappropriate behavior persists. Admin decisions will be final to maintain group harmony.
6. Group Admin Responsibilities
6.1 Admin Roles
- Admins are tasked with upholding the group’s rules and fostering a safe, respectful environment. They have the discretion to take action against members who violate the guidelines, including warnings, suspensions, or removals.
6.2 Contacting Admins
- Members are encouraged to contact group admins with any concerns or suggestions for improving group dynamics.
7. Consequences of Violating Guidelines
7.1 Warnings and Escalations
- Admins will issue warnings to members who breach the group’s guidelines. Repeated violations will lead to further actions, including potential removal from the group.
7.2 Zero-Tolerance Policy
- The AKMG group has a zero-tolerance policy for serious violations, such as harassment, hate speech, or sharing of explicit content. Immediate removal will be enforced in such cases.
8. Eventualities Not Covered in These Guidelines
- If any situation arises that is not explicitly covered in these guidelines, group admins reserve the right to make decisions in the best interest of the group’s harmony and professionalism. Their judgment will be final in such cases.
